Final Presenters and Special Guest Appearances Announced!

We’re excited to announce that three of last year’s presenters, Mark Jinks, Monika Deviat and Joe Desjardins will be making special appearances at the 2023 Lightchasers conference. They won’t be giving presentations but each will be attending at least two of our field sessions and will be on hand to chat with and help out. We’re very happy to have our friends Mark, Monika and Joe join us again this year.

Next, I’m pleased to announce our final three (or is it 5?) speakers for the event! First up is Kyle Marquardt who will be leading an interactive seminar on optimizing camera settings to capture photographs of birds. Kyle’s presentation is brought to you by our sponsors Sony and The Camera Store and participants will also be able to test out Sony’s latest camera technology and lenses at the end of the talk to capture images of our bird guest model, a domesticated Falcon named “Bigfoot.”

In addition to Kyle, we’re excited to have members of the Kase Filters Canada Pro-team, Chris Gibbs, Brett Michaud and Ambassador Jim Brompton join us for a discussion on filters! And last, but certainly not least, Billy Luong, Senior Technical Brand Manager for our title sponsor, Fujifilm, will be on hand to discuss the latest inFujifilm’s offerings – and much like last year, Fujifilm will have a selection of their cameras for attendees to sign out and try in the field.

So, to recap, our final list of presenters are as follows:
Alister Benn (Keynote Speaker), Viktoria Haack, Rebecca Simrose, Alan Dyer, Anna Morgan, Dara Ojo, Abbie Reilander, Alex Buisse, Billie Lang and Hope Walls, Kyle Marquardt, Jim Brompton, Brett Michaud, Chris Gibbs, and Billy Luong. Phew! What a lineup! Check out all of the info on our presenters here.

We’ll be releasing a tentative schedule within the next week on the site as well so stay tuned to our social media and announcements page for when that goes live. It’s absolutely jam packed with programming starting at 9am on Friday and wrapping up at 4pm on Sunday. We’ll have a trade floor experience each morning and afternoon where attendees can interact with our sponsors Fujifilm, Kase Filters, McBain Camera, Nikon, Sony, The Camera Store, and Tamron as well as check out their products first hand. Speakers will be starting at 11am each day and there will be a two hour lunch break for the trade floor as well as interactive Tech Talks and free sensor cleanings with McBain during this time. We have field sessions planned for Saturday morning, evening, late night and Sunday morning as well and portfolio reviews and an image critique from our photo contest. Double phew! I’m exhausted just typing all that! It’s going to be an absolutely amazing weekend unlike any other event in Canada.
