More Presenters Announced! Viktoria Haack, Alex Buisse, Rare Earth Outreach!

Back by popular demand, Viktoria Haack will be joining us once again this year as guest of Nikon Canada. Viktoria is one of the most inspiring photographers in Canada and we’re thrilled to have her as a part of Lightchasers 2023. Viktoria will have a brand new presentation this year and in addition to appearing at the conference, will also be holding a workshop May 29-June1 with our good friend Monika Deviat in Waterton (not included as a part of Lightchasers). Also joining us this year will be renowned adventure photographer Alex Buisse! Alex’s career has taken him sailing on an expedition yacht around Cape Horn, being invited to an Ethiopian coffee ceremony in Dadaab Refugee Camp, photographing Usain Bolt at the Olympics, skiing to the North Pole, naming three (small) mountains in Greenland, adventure racing through Tierra del Fuego, climbing on K2 and getting winched from a rescue helicopter at night. He spent years living and climbing in Chamonix, France and now calls Canmore home. And last but not least, we’re excited to have Hope Walls and Billie Lang from the Rare Earth Outreach Foundation. Perhaps best known for their Shooting Range photography challenges, the pair stumbled upon profound similarities about the struggles they and their colleagues experienced during the pandemic, leading to the establishment of Rare Earth Outreach, a Foundation dedicated to calling in (instead of calling out) people who work with, in, and for the photographic arts community. They are very excited to share their uplifting, funny, and inspirational discoveries about what happens when the race to create and the pressure to stand out become secondary to finding your own voice and telling your own story.
