Photo Contest is Open!
We’ve got three pieces of news for you this morning! The first is that our Photo Contest is now open! Attendees can enter up to a total of five images across four different categories: Landscapes, Astro, Wildlife and Monochrome, which is a new category for this year. You can enter in one category or several but please note that you can only enter a maximum of five entries TOTAL – not five entries per category. At the bottom of the form there is also an option to have your image(s) kindly and positively critiqued in the group contest critique happening on the Friday evening. As this proved to be VERY popular last year, we will now be hosting this session on the big screen in the main hall. Contest closes on May 1st. Winners will be announced at the event and will receive a framed print of their winning image as well as a prize pack consisting of items from some of our brand partners! Please note, the Photo Contest is ONLY open to registered, in-person attendees.

Next up, Lightchasers founder, Shane Turgeon, was recently a guest on Matt Payne’s esteemed photography podcast, F-stop, Collaborate and Listen talking about his journey into photography and what led him to create the Lightchasers Conference. If you’re interested in checking it out and learning more about how the conference came to be and where it’s going, you can listen here or on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It’s also available on YouTube.
Although the event is still 2.5 months away, we are hard at work with our brand partners, provincial parks and other stakeholders to finalize our schedule as soon as possible. We have some very exciting things and locations in the works and should have a tentative schedule ready for the 1st of April (no foolin’!). The conference will open on the morning of Friday, May 26th at 9am with the speakers kicking off at 1030am and wrapping up by Sunday at 5pm with a tonne of programming packed in between.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of your images in the contest and to connecting with you all in person very soon!
